Lehman Tabbed ASUN Player of the Week

Liberty lacrosse midfielder Mackenzie Lehman has been named the ASUN Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.
Lehman’s honor is the second ASUN Player of the Week award of her career and first since April 21, 2021, when she became the first Liberty player in program history to receive the accolade as a freshman.
Lehman is the Lady Flames’ second ASUN Player of the Week this season, joining Jordan Baerga (Feb. 15). The midfielder is also Liberty’s fifth overall weekly award winner in 2022 (two player of the week honorees, three defensive player of the week recipients).
Lehman enjoyed a career day last Saturday in Liberty’s 22-9 ASUN home win over Stetson, scoring a career-high six goals against the Hatters. She also won a game-high nine draw controls and added two ground balls and a caused turnover.
Lehman’s six-goal day came on only six shots, and she converted 3-of-3 free-position opportunities. The sophomore tallied the first three goals of the game and all six of her goals before halftime. The McMurray, Pa. native is the first player since Anna Keebler in 2020 (Feb. 26 vs. Winthrop) to score six times, and her six goals are tied for the second most in a game in program history.
Lehman leads Liberty in goals (31) and points (39) and ranks second in draw controls (48) and third in assists (8).
Lehman and the Lady Flames (8-5) will be back in action on Wednesday evening at No. 11 James Madison (9-4). Game time is 6 p.m. at Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Va., and can be seen on FloSports.
