Larry Blair Named To The Preseason Mid-Major All-American Team

    Oct 31, 2006 | Lynchburg Va | Men's Basketball

Senior guard Larry Blair has been named to the collegeinsider.com Preseason Mid-Major All-American team, Liberty University school officials announced.

The collegeinsider.com Preseason Mid-Major All-American team consists of 25 players, and Division I coaches and NBA scouts help in the selection process. Torrell Martin of Winthrop and Chris Oliver of Radford join Blair as the only players from the Big South Conference named to the team.

Blair, (Charlotte, N.C.) who finished second in the Big South last season in scoring at 22.6 points per game, has been named to the Big South All-Conference squad three times during his career, including back-to-back first-team selections in 2005 and 2006. This is the sixth preseason team Blair has been named to this year. Athlon Sports, the Big South Conference, Sporting News, Street & Smith’s and CBS Sportsline.com all voted Blair to their Big South All-Conference first team rosters while Lindy’s named him to the second team. Athlon Sports named Blair as its Big South Preseason Player of the Year.

Freshmen and junior college transfers are not considered for preseason honors.
