Lady Flames to Open ASUN Schedule with Queens

Liberty (7-5) opens ASUN play with a home-and-home series against conference newcomer Queens (5-8), Friday and Sunday.

The Lady Flames are 3-1 all-time in ASUN openers, posting 3-0 sweeps of North Florida (2018) and FGCU (2019) and a 3-2 win over Bellarmine last fall. Lipscomb swept Liberty in the Lady Flames' conference opener in the spring of 2021.
Friday's match will be Playing For Preemies Night at Liberty Arena. The Lady Flames will be raising funds and support for the RaeStrong Foundation, helping support families of micro preemies that are in need.
Trinity Watts has been named to the All-Tournament Team three times this year. She has scored 10 or more kills in each of the last 10 matches, the longest streak for a Lady Flame since Hannah Weidner's 19 straight 10-kill contests in 2014.
Delaney Dilfer ranks 17th nationally with 10.65 assists per set. In her first year at Liberty after transferring from Lipscomb, Dilfer has helped Liberty to a .238 hitting percentage, up from .173 during the 2021 season. Dilfer has been named to three All-Tournament Teams this fall.
Lydia Burts currently ranks 28th nationally with 1.38 blocks per set. She has posted seven or more blocks five times this season, including a season-high nine blocks at UC San Diego, Sept. 9.
Liberty served tough last weekend, averaging 2.60 aces per set. The Lady Flames served up a season-high 11 aces against Eastern Michigan on Saturday. Kamryn Bacus averaged 1.13 aces per set last weekend, including a career-high four aces on Friday against Radford.
