Liberty will look to earn its first road win of the 2021 campaign when it takes on Furman, Saturday at Paladin Stadium. First draw is set for noon.

The Lady Flames (1-2) are coming off their first victory of the season, a 14-10 home triumph versus Cincinnati at the Liberty Lacrosse Field on Wednesday. The Paladins (0-2) are in search of their first win of the year. Furman dropped early season contests on the road at East Carolina (Feb. 12) and Davidson (Feb. 14).

Liberty is 2-0 all-time against Furman. The two schools last met on Feb. 19, 2020, a 16-9 Liberty triumph in Lynchburg. The Lady Flames defeated the Paladins 14-10 in the other meeting at Paladin Stadium on March 9, 2019.

• Lady Flames sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Soriero currently ranks No. 4 in the country in ground balls per game (5.00), No. 5 in total saves (30) and No. 8 in caused turnovers per game (3.00). Soriero had a career day versus Cincinnati, Wednesday, compiling career bests in ground balls (8) and caused turnovers (6) while adding 10 saves.
• As a team, Liberty ranks No. 1 in the nation in caused turnovers per game (20.00) and No. 4 ground balls per game (28.00). Seven different players have four or more caused turnovers on the year, led by nine from Soriero and eight from midfielders Mia Toscano and Mackenzie Lehman.
• The Lady Flames' balanced scoring attack features six players with three or more goals on the season, led by five goals apiece from attackers Leah Ruby and Brooke Bryan. Ruby paces the team with seven points (5 g, 2 a).
• Liberty is averaging 9.00 goals per game so far this season and surrenders 10.67 goals per game. Lady Flames opponents hold a slight edge in draw controls (34-31) and clear percentage (.813-.756), while Liberty holds the advantage in total caused turnovers (60-44) and ground balls (84-81)
• A victory would be the Lady Flames' first road win since May 2, 2019, an 18-8 win over Coastal Carolina in the ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championship semifinals at Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C. Liberty posted a 3-3 overall record (3-0 home, 0-3 road) in an abbreviated 2020 season.
