Lacrosse Releases 2021 ASUN Schedule Along With SoCon Crossover Games

The Liberty women's lacrosse squad has announced its spring 2021 ASUN Conference schedule, along with four SoCon crossover games.

The schedule is tentative and subject to change. The Lady Flames' non-conference schedule will be unveiled at a later date. Liberty will play two home ASUN contests and a pair of conference games on the road.

Liberty's first ASUN contest will be at home on April 16 versus the Kennesaw State Owls. The Lady Flames will play road contests at Stetson (April 23) and three-time defending ASUN champion Jacksonville (April 25) prior to returning to Lynchburg and squaring off with Howard, April 30.

The Lady Flames' first crossover game against a SoCon team will be on Feb. 27 on the road against the Furman Paladins in Greenville, S.C. Liberty will renew its rivalry with former Big South and ASUN member Coastal Carolina, April 10 in Lynchburg. The Lady Flames topped the Chanticleers 18-8 in the 2019 ASUN Lacrosse Championship semifinal round in what turned out to be Coastal Carolina's final postseason game as an ASUN member.

Liberty's other two SoCon crossover games pit the Lady Flames against the Delaware State Hornets (March 26) and Mercer Bears (April 18), both at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.

Liberty won a program-record 14 games and finished 5-1 in the ASUN in 2019 in what was its first in the conference. The Lady Flames finished as the runner-up at the ASUN Lacrosse Championship, narrowly losing the title game (20-18) to Jacksonville at Coastal Carolina's Brooks Stadium. Liberty finished 3-3 overall in an abbreviated 2020 season.
