Liberty women’s soccer incoming freshman, Ivy Garner, has been selected to the Puerto Rico’s U-20 National Team, where she will compete in the CONCACAF, as Puerto Rico looks to clinch a spot in the World Cup.
To kick off CONCACAF, Garner will face the Dominican Republic, the United States and Nicaragua in the group stage. Garner is the third Liberty player in the last five seasons to represent a national team as Gabrielle Farrell competed for the Jamaica National Team in the 2020 CONCACAF Olympic qualifiers and Isabella Habuda was a member of the 2017 U17 Canadian Team.
Garner attended Cedar Ridge high school, where she played under head coach PJ Michaelson. At Cedar Ridge Garner recorded 50 points scoring 18 goals along with 14 assists. Garner has played against top competition around the country as she was a U.S. Soccer training session attendee from 2016-17 and attended the ECNL Training Camp in Portland, Ore. in 2018. Garner also played for Oak City United from 2019-2021, a WPSL team.
