    High Winds Halt Play During Round 2 of The Prestige

    The Prestige Live Stats – Round 2

    High winds during the afternoon flight of Round 2 of The Prestige forced teams off the course and eventually led to play being halted for the day.

    Players experienced winds between 25 and 35 MPH and gusts up to 50 MPH, making the desert course unplayable late in the day.

    The final teams during the afternoon flight, which includes No. 33 Liberty, will have up to nine holes left play tomorrow morning to complete their second trip around the Greg Norman Course at PGA West (pa 71, 7,100).

    Play is scheduled to resume at 10:15 a.m. EST (7:15 a.m. PST). The third round will begin around 1:30 p.m. EST/10:30 a.m. PST with the 24-team field utilizing a shotgut start.

    Day 1 leader and No. 15 ranked Pepperdine was part of the morning flight and extended its lead thanks to a 6-under par 554 today. The Waves will enter the final round holding a four-shot lead with an overall 14-under par 554 (276-278).

    No. 6 ranked Stanford, who is co-hosting the event with UC Davis, is in second place with a 10-under par 558 (277-281).

    Stanford’s Michael Thorbjornsen, the No. 2 ranked golfer in the country, currently sits atop the 120-man leaderboard with a 7-under par 135 (66-69).

    Liberty, who opened the event with a 12-over par 296 on Monday, is currently 3-over par with its golfers having completely nine to 12 holes of their second round.

    Jonathan Yaun made the turn at even par thanks a birdie on the par-4, No. 6 hole (481 yards). With nine holes left in his second round, the senior is currently tied for 39th place with a 2-over par overall score.

    Connor Polender and Josh Ryan each opened their back nines of round two with a pair of birdies during holes 10-12, leaving each at level par for the day with six holes to play.
