Defender Bridie Herman earned first-team recognition, while goalkeeper Ainsley Leja and midfielder Saydie Holland were named to the second team. Midfielder Rachel DeRuby was selected to the third team.

The four helped Liberty post a 14-3-3 overall mark and finish in first place in the ASUN standings with an 8-0-2 record during the 2022 regular season.

Herman was named to the ASUN All-Conference first team in 2022. The senior led Liberty with 14 points, scoring three goals and recording eight assists. She finished the year as the ASUN leader in assists and eighth in the conference in points.

In addition, Herman, who started all 21 games, was part of a Liberty defensive unit that has helped the Lady Flames allow a conference-low 0.61 goals per game and recorded 12 shutouts to lead the ASUN. Liberty finished the year 16th nationally with a 0.571 shutout percentage.

Leja had quite a season in her first year as Liberty’s starting goalkeeper. The sophomore was named the 2022 ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year, becoming the second Liberty goalkeeper to be selected as the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year in program history. She also garnered ASUN All-Conference first team honors.

The Rockford, Mich., native started all 21 games for the Lady Flames in 2022, posting a 0.62 goals-against average and a .812 save percentage. She finished third in the ASUN and 20th in the nation in goals-against average.

In addition, Lejia led the ASUN and finished the year 13th in the nation with 10 shutouts, the second-most in program history.

In her first season at Liberty, Holland earned ASUN All-Conference second-team honors and was named to the 2022 ASUN All-Tournament team. The senior midfielder has played in 18 games, starting 17. She finished the year with 11 points, scoring four goals and three assists.

After providing steady play during the regular season, the Waverly, Tenn., native had a standout ASUN Tournament for the Lady Flames. Holland scored two goals and an assist over Liberty’s three games. The midfielder scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Jacksonville in the ASUN Quarterfinals.
