    Flames Post 7-5 Record in Matches Against Monarchs, Sunday at Liberty Dual

    The Liberty Flames men’s tennis team posted a 7-5 record in matches against the Old Dominion Monarchs, Sunday on the third and final day of the Liberty Dual at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center.

    Day three of the event saw the Flames go 3-1 in doubles and 4-4 in singles versus ODU.

    Liberty finished the three-day tournament with a 15-8 combined singles record and 7-5 doubles mark.

    Key Stats & Notes
    • In doubles, the Flames duos of Josh Wilson/Christiaan Worst, Beau Pelletier/Rafael Marques Da Silva and Thando Longwe-Smit/Omar El Kadi were all victorious.|
    • Longwe-Smit and El Kadi finished the weekend 3-0 after a 6-2 win against ODU’s Timeo Puech and Yoav Weinberg.
    • Liberty’s pairing of Wilson and Worst picked up their team-leading 10th triumph of the fall with a 6-3 victory over Jakob Cadonau and Yanis Moundir. The Flames team went 2-1 this weekend. Paired together for the first time this weekend, Pelletier and Marques Da Silva topped Cosme Rolland De Ravel and Francois Le Tallec 6-4.
    • In singles, Marques Da Silva (No. 2) became the only Flame to post a 3-0 record this weekend with a three-set win (6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-1 for a third straight day, this time over Moundir. One court over, Wilson of Liberty bested Codie Van Schalkwyk in a close two sets, 7-6, 7-6 (5).
    • Pelletier and Heaven each collected their second wins of the weekend. Pelletier downed Cadonau 7-6 (5), 7-5, and Heaven was a 6-2, 6-2 victor over Weinberg.
    • Heaven and Marques Da Silva are both 8-3 this fall, second only to Longwe-Smit (10-2).|
    • Liberty and ODU squared off at the Liberty Fall Hidden Dual 364 days ago (Nov. 7, 2021) as well.
