Flames Place 2 Golfers on PING All-Region Team

Liberty’s Kieran Vincent and Jonathan Yaun were each recognized for their efforts during the 2021-22 season by being selected to the 2022 GCAA PING All-Region team.
The pair of Flames golfers were among the 25 golfers named to the PING All-Region East team, which has been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). A total of 150 golfers were named to the six All-Region listings.
This is the second year in a row that both Vincent and Yaun have been named to the PING All-Region East team. Liberty has had at least one golfer named to the PING All-Region team each year since 2010.
Vincent finished up his six-year career with the Flames by leading the team during the 2021-22 season with a 71.36 stroke average. He also paced the team with five top-10 finishes, including a trio of top-five performances.
The native of Harare, Zimbabwe also led the Flames at the NCAA Men’s Golf National Championship, finishing the event tied for 55th place. Vincent played 23-of-36 rounds at par or better (63.9 percent) and posted six sub-70 rounds.
Vincent finished his career at Liberty as the program’s all-time leader in career stroke average (71.71). He also leaves the program as its all-time career leader in rounds played (159), career birdies (531), career rounds at par or better (85) and career counting scores rounds (140 – 140-of-159/88.1 percent).
Yaun ranked third on the team with a 72.11 season stroke average, which included a pair of top-five finishes. He played 15-of-36 rounds at par or better (41.7 percent) and posted seven sub-70 rounds of golf.
The native of Minneola, Fla., led the team in last round scoring average (70.82), which individually ranks No. 92 in the country. Yaun also helped the Flames rank No. 27 in the country in par-5 scoring by leading the Flames with a 4.64 scoring average on the par-5 holes.
Vincent and Yaun helped Liberty advance to the NCAA Men’s Golf National Championship for the third year in a row. Liberty finished the national championship event in 26th place.
