Flames Men's Tennis Adds Transfer El Kadi

5/14/2021 12:00:00 AM | Men's Tennis

The 2021 ASUN champion Liberty Flames men's tennis team has announced the addition of transfer Omar El Kadi for the 2021-22 school year.

"Omar is a great athlete and a hard worker who loves the game," said Flames head coach Derek Schwandt. "We can't wait to work with him and to welcome him in to the Flames family."

El Kadi, who hails from Cairo, Egypt, has spent the past two seasons competing for the Incarnate Word Cardinals.

During his junior tennis career, El Kadi earned a top 200 ITF Juniors ranking while competing in multiple age-level African Championships. He placed fifth in the U18 age group and third at U14 and U16. El Kadi also participated in the 2016 Junior Davis Cup and the Davis Cup team B from 2017-19.

El Kadi was a two-time World Cup Qualifier in U14 and U16 age groups in 2015 and 2016 and won the ITF G4 doubles event in Morocco and was a G3 finalist in 2017.
