Seminole Intercollegiate Live Stats

No. 21 Liberty will finish off a busy start to its 2021 spring schedule when they participate in this weekend's Seminole Intercollegiate.

The three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Florida State at the Golden Eagle Country Club (par 72, 6,965 yards) in Tallahassee, Fla.

The tournament is Liberty's fourth of the spring season which began 24 days ago. All four of the Flames spring tournaments have been contested in the "Sunshine State."

Liberty enters the event ranked No. 21 in the country in the latest Golfstat national rankings. The Flames are one of many top-ranked teams in the 15-team field, including: Oklahoma (No. 1), Oklahoma State (No. 14), Florida State (No. 17), Liberty (No. 21), North Florida (No. 29), Duke (No. 32), South Florida (No. 33) and Virginia (No. 41).

Tournament Reflections – Liberty's Previous Showing at the Seminole Intercollegiate:  
• The Flames made their inaugural appearance at the Seminole Intercollegiate during last spring's abbreviated schedule.
• The Flames finished in third place, posting a score of 9-over par 873 (297-285-291).
• Washington, the top-ranked team in the field at No. 17, walked away with the team title, posting a winning score of 9-under par 855 (289-288-278).
• Last year's 14-team tournament field included three other ASUN Conference schools: North Florida (T7 +19 883), Jacksonville (9th +24 888) and North Alabama (13th +46 910).
• The Flames were paced by Jonathan Yaun, who individually finished in second place with a 6-under par 210 (74-67-69).
• Kieran Vincent was second among Liberty's starting five, finishing tied for 19th place with a 3-over par 219 (74-71-74).  

From the 18th Green – Recapping Liberty's Last Time Out:
• The Flames are coming off an impressive fifth-place finish at last weekend's Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
• Due to inclement weather, the previously scheduled three-day tournament was played in two days where Liberty carded a 20-under par 820 (276-269-275).
• The 21-team tournament field included nine teams that were ranked in the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll coming into the event. 
• The Flames finished ahead of No. 2 Vanderbilt (7th -14 826) and No. 4 Tennessee (T8 -12 828).
• Ervin Chang (69-63-71) and Kieran Vincent (70-66-67) led Liberty's efforts, as the pair of Flames finished tied for eighth place with a 7-under par 203.
• Chang tied a career-low round with a 7-under par 63 second round, matching the same score he carded during the middle round of the Gator Invitational in 2019.

Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes:
• The Flames, along with the rest of the ASUN Conference, did not compete during the Fall 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Liberty finished the shortened 2019-20 season ranked No. 30 in the final Golfstat national rankings.
• Liberty's Kieran Vincent and Jonathan Yaun were named to the 2020 GCAA/Ping All-America team, giving the Flames their fourth and fifth All-Americans in program history.
• Four members of Liberty's roster were named to the ASUN All-Conference team at the end of the 2019-20 season: Ervin Chang, Alexandre Fuchs, Kieran Vincent and Jonathan Yaun.
• Entering this weekend's tournament, the Flames are ranked No. 21 in the first Golfstat national rankings of the spring season.
• Kieran Vincent individually ranks No. 41 in the country and leads the Flames with a 69.44 scoring average and three top-10 finishes this spring.
