Elijah Cuffee Named ASUN Winner For Life Recipient

Elijah Cuffee was named to the 2020-21 Winter Winners for Life team. The team is comprised of one student-athlete from each of the nine institutions and honors those who display excellence on and off the playing surface.
Cuffee came into the year as the ASUN Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and did not disappoint, earning ASUN Defensive Player of the Year. Cuffee spearheaded a defense that ranked No. 3 in the country, allowing 60 points per game. During his senior campaign Cuffee recorded 12 steals and 11 blocks as the Flames held 12 opponents to under 60 points in a game this season. Cuffee is the first player in program history to receive a Defensive Player of the Year award.
Not only a threat on defense, Cuffee was sensational on offense as well averaging 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Cuffee had his most efficient year on offense as he averaged 48.8 percent from the field, 43 percent from three-point range and 86.7 percent from the free throw line. Cuffee concluded his career as the program's most winningest player, winning 104 career games. Cuffee ranks No. 31 on Liberty's all-time scoring list with 981 career points and No. 19 with 265 career assists. Cuffee will graduate with a degree in exercise science & wellness.
