Liberty women’s cross country All-American Calli Doan has been named to the ASUN Conference’s 2021-22 Fall Winners for Life team. Announced today, the team is composed of one student-athlete from each of the conference’s 12 institutions and honors those who display excellence on and off the playing surface. Doan is an ASUN Winner for Life for the second time, as she was previously included on the 2019-20 Fall Winners for Life team.

The Winners for Life team honors a campus citizen that is respected as one who shares and/or demonstrates the ASUN Core Values: Education, Honesty, Student-Athlete Experience, Fairness, Health, Ambition, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Leadership, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have competed in the current academic year in an ASUN sponsored sport and be in good academic standing at his/her university.

A native of Apex, N.C., Doan placed 28th at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships to become the first women’s cross country All-American in ASUN Conference history. The ASUN individual women’s cross country champion, Doan led the Lady Flames to their second straight ASUN team title and the program’s first-ever national ranking. During the season, Doan set program records for the 5K (16:57.4) and 6K (19:50.6) distances.

Doan was voted the ASUN Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season. An exercise science major, she recorded a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester to keep her cumulative GPA at 3.99. Doan also serves within her church youth group.
