Burger Collects 2nd Singles Win of Weekend at Hokie Fall Invite
Liberty freshman Maretha Burger closed the weekend with her second singles triumph, Sunday at the Hokie Fall Invite.
Burger finished the tournament by defeating West Virginia State’s Gaya Solomon in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Burger was 2-2 in singles this weekend in the Orange singles flight and is 4-3 in singles competition through her first two career collegiate events.
Burger was responsible for both Liberty singles wins this weekend at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. Meanwhile, Burger and her doubles partner Bruna Sampaio collected one total doubles win over the course of the three-day event.
