2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams®

Liberty center Mya Berkman has been voted to the 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team®, which was announced on Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

With her selection, Berkman moves onto the national ballot where she will be eligible for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team. The 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Women’s Basketball Team will be announced on March 16.

A native of Marble Falls, Texas, Berkman is the first Lady Flame since Ashley Rininger in 2015-16 to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Team® recognition. That same year, Rininger became the team’s most recent CoSIDA Academic All-American®.

Berkman graduated in May 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, maintaining a 3.80 GPA during her undergraduate studies. She currently owns a 3.93 GPA as she pursues a master’s degree in accounting.

Berkman is a two-time ASUN All-Academic Team member (2020 and 2021) and has made the ASUN Academic Honor Roll following each of her first three years at Liberty.

On the court, Berkman paces the 23-2 Lady Flames in scoring (13.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg) while ranking No. 2 nationally in field goal percentage (66.8). The Co-MVP of the Navy Classic, Berkman has recorded four double-doubles and a pair of 20-point games this season with a career-high of 24 against Ohio on Nov. 13.
