Barbin Surges Up Leaderboard at Mason Rudolph Championship

Liberty’s Austin Barbin fired one of the lowest rounds on day, climbing inside the top 20 during Round 2 of the 2023 Mason Rudolph Championship.
The senior fired a 3-under par 68 on Tuesday and will enter the final round tied for 17th place with an overall 1-under par 141 (73-68).
Barbin has now carded sub-70 rounds in three out of his last four trips around the Vanderbilt Legends Club (par 71, 7,100 yards). Last year, Barbin finished this event tied for seventh place with a 7-under par 206 (70-69-67).
As a team, Liberty is currently in seventh place with a 6-over par 574 following consecutive rounds of 3-over par 287.
Tournament host and No. 1 Vanderbilt continues to lead the 15-team field, holding a 17-stroke lead with an overall score of 27-under par 541 (274-267).
No. 14 Tennessee (280-278) and No. 16 Mississippi State (280-278) are tied for second place with a 10-under par 558.
Vanderbilt’s Gordon Sargent, the No. 1 ranked golfer in the country, leads the field with a 12-under par 130 (66-64). He holds a six stroke lead over six golfers with a 6-under par 136.
