    2022-23 Liberty Women’s Basketball Schedule

As Liberty prepares for its fifth and final season of ASUN Conference women’s basketball, the 2022-23 conference schedule was released on Thursday.

Each of the ASUN’s 14 members will play 18 conference games (nine home, nine away). Liberty will face five ASUN opponents twice (Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, FGCU, Jacksonville and Queens) and the other eight conference foes once apiece.

    What’s New?
Austin Peay and Queens will officially join the ASUN Conference on July 1, boosting the league membership to 14 schools.

The conference will not utilize divisions this season, after featuring an East Division and West Division in 2021-22.

    Firsts
The Lady Flames will tip off ASUN play at defending conference champion FGCU on Jan. 2 before returning to Liberty Arena for their ASUN home opener on Jan. 5 versus Central Arkansas.

Liberty will face conference newcomers Austin Peay (Jan. 26 on the road) and Queens (Feb. 16 on the road, Feb. 18 at home) for the first time in program history in 2022-23.

The following ASUN teams will make their first-ever appearance at Liberty Arena this season: Central Arkansas (Jan. 5), Queens (Feb. 18) and Bellarmine (Feb. 23).

Liberty will play its first-ever games at Austin Peay’s Dunn Center (Jan. 26) and Queens’ Curry Arena (Feb. 16).

    It’s Been a While
Liberty will travel to a pair of ASUN facilities for the first time in three years this season.

The Lady Flames’ Jan. 28 visit to Lipscomb will mark their first contest at Allen Arena since Feb. 29, 2020.

On Feb. 11, Liberty will play at North Alabama’s Flowers Hall for the first time since March 11, 2020. That day, the Lady Flames topped the Lions in overtime in the ASUN Championship semifinals. It was Liberty’s final contest before the season was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Still to Come
Details regarding the 2023 ASUN Women’s Basketball Championship will be announced at a later date.

Liberty’s non-conference schedule will be announced during the coming weeks and months.
