Amanda Rider was promoted to her current position, Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations, in February 2020. She originally rejoined the Liberty Athletics department in August 2016, assuming the role of Assistant Director for University events and was promoted to the position of Director of Ticket Operations in May 2018.
In her current role at Liberty, her responsibilities include coordinating all ticket operations for all home regular season ticketed NCAA events for football, men's and women's basketball and baseball. Rider also coordinates away game and postseason ticket operations for all NCAA sports. In addition to Liberty Athletics, she also serves as the primary ticket office liaison for various University and department-wide projects. Rider was instrumental in the implementation of a new ticket software system for the university for the 2018-19 school year.
Rider currently holds membership in the National Association of Athletic Ticket Sales and Operations (NAATSO.) She was one of five recipients of the 2018 Diversity Initiative Stipend to be able to attend the 2018 NAATSO convention in Washington D.C.
In June 2019, Rider was selected as one of the three newest board members for the National Association of Athletic Ticket Sales and Operations (NAATSO), serving a four-year term. She is also a member of the Women Leaders in College Sports organization.
She graduated from Liberty in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in sport management and a minor in coaching. She then went on to earn master's degree in sport administration in 2014, graduating with honors. The Michigan native began working in Liberty's ticket office as a practicum student in August 2010. Rider was promoted from that position to an event assistant from 2011-2013 before finishing as a graduate assistant. After graduation, she moved to Colorado as a missionary before moving back to Lynchburg in 2016 where she currently resides.
