Robert Goodman joined the Liberty staff in May 2017. He directly oversees the marketing for all of Liberty's 20 NCAA Division I sports along with the sale of season and individual game tickets at football, men's and women's basketball and baseball. He helped to create an outbound ticket sales team while working with The Aspire Group for training and best practices. His staff consists of the Director of Fan Experience, Assistant Director of Fan Experience, three Graduate Assistants and the interns program. Also, Goodman is the cheerleading and marching band administrator.
Prior to coming to Liberty, he served as the Senior Associate Commisioner of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). In his role with the CAA, Goodman oversaw marketing, sponsorship and tickets and championships departments, was directly responsible for the baseball and men's and women's golf championships, served as a member fo the NCAA women's golf and baseball committees and served as an NCAA site rep for men's and women's soccer and women's lacrosse.
Goodman also worked as the Assistant Director of Virginia Athletics Foundation (2000-01) and as the Director of Marketing and Promotions at William & Mary (1994-2000). From 1992-94, he served as the Ticket Manager for the Richmond Braves.
Goodman graduated from Virginia in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in sport managment. He earned a mini-MBA from Richmond in 2012.
Goodman and his wife, Kristyn, currently reside in Forest, Va. The couple has two daughters, Kelsey, who plays volleyball at Roanoke, and Amy, who palys volleyball at Eastern Mennonite.
