Caroline Smith stepped into her role as a Women's Olympic Sports Director of Operations in July of 2019. Smith works directly with women's soccer, men's tennis and field hockey.
Prior to her current role, Smith served as a Assistant Director for Events and Facilities in 2018 where she was the event management and facilities contact for field hockey, women's lacrosse and indoor track & field (secondary). Prior to her current role, Smith served an Athletic Event and Facilities Graduate Assistant from Aug. 2017-March 2018.
"I am extremely grateful to be given the opportunity to be a part of the Flames family and represent the mission and vision of training Champions for Christ through my position in Liberty Athletics," Smith stated.
In summer 2017, she served as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Intern. Prior to that, Smith held several positions within Liberty Athletics, including: Intern to Associate AD for Administrative and Strategic Initiatives/Senior Women's Administrator (Aug. 2016-May 2017), Liberty Baseball Administrative Intern (Aug. 2015-Dec. 2016) and Liberty Game Operations CSER Student (Aug. 2014-May 2015). She also worked as a Data Analyst and Design Intern for Sports Marketing Surveys Inc. in Jupiter, Fla., from May through August 2015.
Smith competed on the Liberty women's lacrosse team during the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons. In her final season with the Lady Flames in 2017, the native of Palm City, Fla., appeared in 18 games (17 starts) and compiled 22 draw controls, fifth most on the squad.
Smith graduated from Liberty in May 2017 with a bachelor's degree in sport management. She is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Legal Studies from Liberty, which she expects to complete in May 2019.
Smith currently resides in Boonsboro, Va.
