Today's Flames Minute: Tuesday
This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Church Mutual Insurance, for this Tuesday, April 7, 2020, I'm Nick Pierce.
Life remains on hold for athletes around the world in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many collegiate and professional athletes currently lack access to training facilities to stay in shape but that isn't the case for former Flames baseball standout Tre Todd. Now a minor leaguer in the Dodgers system, Todd's currently at home with his parents where there's a batting cage attached to the house.
"My little sister is still playing; she's in high school, so, me and her usually go out – and then my older sister usually just, like, pitches front toss to us. I'm making her go over-hand, so, I'm making her switch it up a little bit. She's getting better at that. She said that if i ever make it to the home run derby that she wants to be my pitcher. So, that'll be pretty cool if that ever happens."
Todd spent the 2018 season with Liberty and hit .315 with 10 home runs. He went on to be a first team all-conference member and the Dodgers would draft Todd in the 21st round.
