Today's Flames Minute: Monday

This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Church Mutual Insurance, for this Monday, April 6, 2020, I'm Nick Pierce.

The Lady Flames basketball team has been declared co-champions of the ASUN Conference. The ASUN declared Liberty and Florida Gulf Coast co-champs on Friday. The Flames and Eagles were scheduled to play for the conference title on March 15, but the game was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It'll go down as Liberty's 18th conference tournament title and first since joining the ASUN Conference.

Also, Liberty's Emily Lytle and Asia Todd were both named to the ASUN All-Tournament team. In two games, Lytle averaged 25.5 points and led all players in the tournament with 51. Todd averaged 18 points in two games.

And Liberty men's basketball senior Caleb Homesley was named first team all-state on Friday by the Virginia Sports Information Directors. Homesley becomes the first Flame to be named all-state since Seth Curry in 2009.
