Recapping the weekend – the Lady Flames field hockey team picked up a road win on Sunday. No. 15 ranked Liberty downed Longwood, 3-0 for it's fifth shutout of the year. Mallory Fortenbaugh scored two goals for LU.

The Liberty volleyball team split a pair of home matches this weekend, winning in three sets over NJIT on Friday before falling to Stetson in five sets on Sunday. Senior Casey Goodwin posted her 1,000th career kill for Liberty on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Liberty women's swimming and diving team opened conference competition with a win over Campbell on Friday. The Lady Flames won seven events at the meet. Also, Liberty's divers posted three top-4 finishes on Saturday at UNC Wilmington.

And Flames football returns home this weekend. Liberty hosts Maine for Homecoming at Williams Stadium. Kickoff Saturday night is at 6 p.m.
