• Liberty will square off with NJIT in its first-ever ASUN Conference series, this weekend. The series is the first conference series for both teams in 2019. The two teams will be meeting on the diamond for the first time in program history.

• Liberty is off to its best start since 2012. The Flames have won eight of their last 10 games.

• With their 2-0 victory over No. 8 ranked North Carolina on Tuesday, the Flames move to 4-1 on their eight-game homestand, their longest of the season.

Pitching Prowess
The Liberty mound staff is off to a strong start in 2019. The Flames begin the weekend with 3.22 overall ERA and a 1.88 ERA at Liberty Baseball Stadium.

Liberty pitchers have held opposing batters to a .212 batting average and posted a 1.18 WHIP.  Entering the weekend, the Flames rank 21st nationally in WHIP and 17th in hits allowed per nine innings (6.8).  In addition, the Flames are fifth in the nation with four shutouts and posted a 2.49 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio.

  • C Jonathan Embry  enters the weekend with a seven game hitting streak. During the span, the redshirt junior has hit .367 with four doubles and a home run, scoring nine runs. He leads the Flames and is third in the ASUN with 20 runs scored.
  • 1B Logan Mathieu has hit .364 and posted a .553 on base percentage during the month of March. Mathieu has five doubles, two home runs and nine RBI. He has also walked 13 times.
  • 2B Will Wagner leads the Flames with a .342 batting average and 25 hits.
  • 3B Tyler Galazin's bat has heated up in the month of March. The senior has hit .304 with a team-high 14 hits so far in the month. Galazin has raised his batting average 46 points since the beginning of the month.
  • SS Cam  Locklear has driven in 10 runs over his last 10 games. The shortstop leads the Flames with 16 RBI.
  • CF Jaylen Guy has hit .313 over his last 10 games. The freshman is second in the ASUN Conference in stolen bases with nine.
  • Right-hander Andrew McInvale leads the ASUN Conference in wins with his 4-0 record. McInvale is second in the conference with 31 innings pitched.
  • Right-hander Noah Skirrow leads the ASUN Conference and is 14th nationally with 44 strikeouts.  The sophomore is averaging 12.91 strikeouts per nine innings. He enters the weekend with a 2.35 ERA.
  • P Garret Price leads the ASUN with a 1.23 ERA over 22 innings. The right-hander has a 3-0 mark in the month of March with a 1.71 ERA.
