Following Liberty's final full practice of the week, Head Coach Turner Gill met with the media to discuss his team's preparation for their matchup against Monmouth on Saturday.
First to 50 • Liberty's 36-21 victory at Kennesaw State last Saturday improved the Flames' all-time Big South Conference record to 50-19. • The Flames are the first team to record 50 conference wins in the 15 seasons (2002-16) of Big South football.
Flames on Homecoming • Liberty is 29-13 all-time on Homecoming. • Liberty's last four Homecoming games have each been decided by 10 points or less. • The Flames are 7-2 and are averaging 48.1 ppg during their last nine Homecoming contests. • Liberty is 8-3 in Big South games played on Homecoming at Williams Stadium. • Liberty's last six Homecoming games have each drawn over 18,000 fans to Williams Stadium. • The Flames have never hosted Monmouth for Homecoming.
Home-field Advantage • The home team has won all three previous Liberty-Monmouth games, including two Flames victories at Williams Stadium (2013 and 2014) and a Hawk triumph at Monmouth Stadium (2015). • Liberty has won three straight Big South home games and is 7-1 in its last eight conference tilts at Williams Stadium. • Monmouth is 1-6 all-time in Big South road games, including 0-1 this season.
