Swimming & Diving Update with Jake Shellenberger

As the 2014-15 regular-season schedule winds down, Alan York of the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) had a chance to catch up with Liberty Swimming & Diving Head Coach Jake Shellenberger.

The defending CCSA champion Lady Flames hold an 8-4 overall record, including 2-1 in CCSA dual meets, this season. Liberty has appeared in the Endless Pools/ Power Rankings once this season, being ranked 47th on Oct. 31. On Tuesday, senior Meghan Babcock was named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, joining junior Kendall Hough and freshman Prudence Rooker as Lady Flames who have received the weekly award this season.

The Lady Flames close out the regular season next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30 and 31, competing in a pair of meets at UNCW. Liberty will look to defend its conference championship at the 2015 CCSA Swimming & Diving Championships, held Feb. 18-21 at Georgia's Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga.
