As Liberty prepares for its final regular-season tournament, Nick Pierce of Liberty Flames Sports Network caught up with 11th-year head coach Shane Pinder, along with redshirt junior outside hitter Caroline Douglas. Douglas hit .369 while averaging 4.40 kills per set last week, as Liberty went 4-1, including a tournament title at the Brown Invitational. She sent down a career-high 29 kills against Central Connecticut on Friday. Her 29 kills were the second most by a Lady Flame in the program's rally-scoring history (since 2001). Pinder recorded his 194th career win, Saturday against Fairfield. He needs five more wins to pass Chris Phillips and become Liberty's winningest volleyball coach. The Lady Flames (9-4) will conclude the first half of their regular-season schedule, this weekend in Nashville, Tenn., at the Bruin Classic. While in Nashville, Liberty will take on Northern Kentucky, Wright State and Belmont.
