Thoughts From Head Coach Jeff Maren
"Today wasn't our day. Hats off to FAU for outplaying us all in all areas. We'll certainly take this lesson and learn from it. This week's practices will be intense and intentional as we prepare for Richmond."

How It Happened
• The Owls claimed two of the three doubles matches (No. 3 and No. 1 doubles) to take an early 1-0 lead. FAUs top duo of Natalia Boltinskaya and Louie McLelland (No. 1 doubles) handed the Lady Flames' Kalani Soli and Eloise Saraty their first loss of the spring by a 6-3 score, which secured the doubles point for the hosts.
• Liberty's freshmen duo of Tiffany Nguyen and Micaela Ode Mitre moved to 5-1 in spring doubles matches with a 6-1 triumph over Radka Buzkova and May Kimhi on court two.
• FAU claimed five of six singles matches in the victory, winning on courts two, three, four, five and six. Four of the five matches were decided in two sets, except for the match on court four between the Lady Flames' Esther Lovato and McLelland. McLelland prevailed in a third-set 10-point tiebreaker and won the match 6-4, 6-7 (6), 1-0 (7).
• With her victory, Soli has now won 40 straight spring singles sets. The last time the Liberty senior lost a singles set was on March 3, 2019, against James Madison's Abby Amos. In that match, Soli dropped the first set 6-2 but bounced back to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
• The Lady Flames are 1-2 on the road in 2020. Liberty is 1-0 at home and 1-1 in neutral site contests.

Next Up
• The Lady Flames will return home to host the Richmond Spiders (3-4, 1-0 A10), Saturday at 11 a.m. at Crosswhite Athletic Club.
• Liberty is 2-3 all-time against Richmond. The two teams last met in 2015, a 5-2 victory by the Lady Flames.
