Liberty Completes Sweep with 3-2 Win over Maine

First baseman Logan Mathieu homered and shortstop Cam Locklear walked with the bases-loaded in the seventh inning, helping the Liberty Flames edged the Maine Black Bears 3-2 in game two of a doubleheader and complete the sweep of the twinbill, Saturday at Liberty Baseball Stadium.

Garret Price pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings to even his record at 1-1 on the year.

Liberty, which won game one 7-0, moves to 7-3 on the year. Maine falls to 0-9.

Turning Point
After stranding potential go-ahead runs at third base in the fourth and fifth inning, Liberty broke through to take the lead in the seventh. With the bases full and two outs, Locklear walked to force in catcher Jonathan Embry, who was hit by a pitch to open the frame, and give the Flames a 3-2 advantage.
