The Game
The Liberty men's basketball team steps into New Rochelle, N.Y. for the first time in nearly 15 years, as the Flames square off with Iona, Tuesday. Iona holds a 2-0 record in the all-time series against Liberty, defeating the Flames most recently inside the Vines Center, 77-57, during the 2011 Sears BracketBusters (Feb. 19, 2011). Liberty hopes to avenge the nationally televised loss, while also picking up its first-ever win over the Gaels. Tipoff inside the Hynes Athletic Center is slated for 7 p.m.

What To Watch For
- The game marks a homecoming for Davon Marshall. A native of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Marshall played at nearby Monroe College, finishing his time as one of the school's most prolific scorers. Look for Marshall to try to put on a show when he makes his return to New Rochelle.

- This game could turn into a three-point shooting contest, very quickly. Liberty averages 7.6 three-pointers per contest, while the Gaels are knocking down 8.8 treys per game. However, Liberty is one of the top 20 teams in the country in three-point field goal defense, holding opponents to 24.7 percent from three-point land. Iona's opponents are shooting 36.5 percent from long range.

- After missing the first nine games due to injury, Joel Vander Pol is now back in the Liberty lineup. In seven minutes of play, the 6-10 center made two big blocks for the Flames. As the redshirt junior begins to return to form, he could provide a solid presence in the post for Liberty.

- Liberty is 1-4 all-time in BracketBusters return meetings. The Flames' lone win in a BracketBusters rematch occurred against a MAAC squad (vs. Niagara, 86-81, Dec. 1, 2007). Liberty has already had another BracketBusters rematch earlier this season, falling to Morgan State, 67-62.
