The Flames will enter their annual bye week following a 28-26 setback to No. 16/13 Lehigh on Saturday night in front of Williams Stadium's sixth largest crowd in facility history.
Liberty controlled almost every statistical category in the game expect the final score, including an edge in total yards (488-301), first downs (23-9), rushing yards (241-106), passing yards (247-195) and time of possession (42:25-17:35).
Liberty will have the week off to prepare for its next opponent, Gardner-Webb, which it will face on Oct. 6, capping off the university's annual Homecoming Weekend celebration. The game will mark the beginning of Big South Conference play for both teams and Liberty's quest to earn a league title in five of the last six seasons.
