Blair scores 26 points in Liberty loss.

The Liberty University Flames (6-7) committed a season-high 21 turnovers to overshadow Larry Blair's 26 points as Oral Roberts (7-7) earned a 90-58 victory at the Marriott Center on Saturday night. The game served as each team's third and final game of the BYU Holiday Classic.

The loss marks the Flames' sixth-straight setback dating back to December 16 when Liberty fell at St. Francis, 70-56, which at the time halted a six-game winning streak.

The Flames never led as Oral Roberts started out on a 21-11 run capped off by one of four first half three-point baskets by Moses Ehambe with 12:13 left in the first half. The Golden Eagles held control the remainder of the first half in part to Liberty's 13 first half turnovers. Oral Roberts would have taken a 13-point lead into the half if it wasn't for Dwight Brewington's jumper in the lane with 55 seconds left to cut Oral Robert's lead to 11, 43-32, at the break.

The Flames looked to make a second half comeback like the night before against Seton Hall by starting period on a 4-0 run after a Blair jumper with 18:43 left in the game making it 43-36.

But, that was as close as Liberty would get as Oral Roberts extended its lead on tremendous second half shooting as the Golden Eagles closed out the game on a 25-15 run to seal the victory, handing the Flames their largest margin loss of the season.

Blair shined for the Flames scoring 13 of the Liberty's first 26 points in the game on the way to his 33rd-straight double-figure scoring game and 43rd time scoring 20 points or more in his 104 career games. Alex McLean added 11 points and six rebounds in the loss.

Oral Roberts had five players in double figures led by Caleb Green who scored 19 points to pace the victors. Ken Tutt and Ehambe each added 17 points and Marchello Vealy and Shawn King added 16 and 11 points, respectively, in the win.

The Flames 21 turnovers created numerous scoring opportunities which allowed the Golden Eagles to net 26 points, aiding Liberty's loss despite a strong shooting performance of 45.3 percent on 24-of-53 from the floor.

Oral Roberts shot 54.7 percent from the field on 29-of-53 shooting to become the first team all season to shoot over 50 percent from the field in a game against the Flames.

Liberty is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take on defending national champion Florida Gators. Tip is set for 6 p.m. EST.
