Law scored on a wild pitch, and then Allen made it 6-0 with an RBI single. A double play ended the inning.

The Explorers inched closer, with one run in the bottom of the first. Leadoff batter Siedler singled, and crossed the plate on a base hit by Aughton, drawing La Salle to within five, 6-1. DiMartino struck out a pair during the inning.
