Over 80 iKids and their siblings enjoyed the iKids Karnival put on by Thomas Road Baptist Church and the Liberty University Council for Exceptional Children, Saturday night, thanks to help from volunteers, including a large contingent from the Liberty Baseball team.

The iKids Karnival held at Thomas Road Baptist Church provided a fun evening of activities for iKids and their siblings, while providing their parents a night out.

Among the activities included in the two-hour program for the children were face painting, games, a pizza dinner, story time and the opportunity to play in Thomas Road's indoor playground, Kid's Cove.  The children participating ranged from age 3-12.

"We would have been stretched to the limit without the help of the Liberty Baseball players and other volunteers," stated Terry Royer, one of the event's organizers and wife of Liberty Head Baseball Coach Matt Royer.  "The baseball team's participation was a big help as it allowed us to give special attention to each child participating".

Over 20 Liberty Baseball players volunteered their time to the evening.  The players provided room setup, supervised and interacted with participants, served food and beverages, operated and participated in various games and at the end of the program, cleaned up and set the room up for Sunday School the next morning.

"I was really excited about the opportunity our players had to help out with this activity," commented Liberty Head Baseball Coach Matt Royer.  "I was glad they were willing to take the time to give to the community and help this event be a success."
