Jordan Jenkins and the Lady Flames are picked to finish fourth in the Big South Conference in 2011.

The Liberty women's tennis team has been predicted to finish fourth in the Big South Conference standings this spring. The annual preseason poll, released this afternoon by the Big South, is voted on by the conference's head women's tennis coaches.

The Lady Flames received one first-place vote and 40 points overall to be projected fourth. Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern finished in a tie for second place ahead of Liberty, receiving 52 points from the group of voters.

In last year's campaign, Liberty finished with a 5-16 overall record, while posting a 1-6 mark in the Big South to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. The Lady Flames return four athletes from last year, and will be led by senior Jordan Jenkins, who has been named to the all-conference singles and doubles teams each of her three seasons at Liberty. Fellow senior Hannah Fick is also a returning all-conference honoree, as she was named to the singles and doubles teams in 2009. Carol Lobel and Valeriya Klintsevich also return for the Lady Flames.

The Lady Flames also bring in a strong freshman class in Jessie Boda, Annisha Domenech, Rebekah Jenkins and Cameron Richard. Each of the four athletes have already made their mark by winning a tournament title this past fall.

Defending Big South Champion Winthrop received five first place votes and 61 points in being predicted as the conference champion at the end of the season, when it hosts the Big South Championships in Rock Hill, S.C., April 20-23.

Liberty's team will begin the spring season Jan. 15, as they will compete in the USTA Campus Showdown in Williamsburg, Va.
