Amy Passauer crossed the line in 27th place on Saturday, making her the Lady Flames' top finisher at the Big South Preview.
Amy Passauer's 27th-place finish led Liberty's partial women's cross country squad, which competed in Saturday's Big South Preview at Blacksburg Middle School in Blacksburg, Va. With only three finishers, Liberty did not factor in the women's team scoring. VMI led the way with 19 points, followed by High Point's 60 markers. Passauer's 20:49.25 clocking, on the same 5K course which will host the Big South Cross Country Championships on Oct. 30, netted 27th place out of 51 competitors. Liberty was also represented by Chenoa Freeman, who came in 40th at 21:51.76, and Meg Bowles, who claimed 47th place with a 23:33.53. Most of Liberty's top men's and women's cross country runners sat out the Big South Preview, in preparation for Friday's Brooks Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. The Flames will compete in the men's college gold 8K at 11 a.m., followed by the Lady Flames in the women's college gold 6K at 11:45.
