Lady Flames' Quick Hitters
-- Head coach Shane Pinder enters the week with a career record of 98-86 in six seasons with the Lady Flames, leaving him just two wins shy of 100.

-- Senior middle blocker Chelaine McCarty was named Big South Player of the Week on Monday, garnering her second honor of the season and the fourth of her career. She is one of two conference players (also UNC Asheville's Lauren Ficker) to have earned multiple Big South Player of the Week honors this season.

-- Sophomore libero Kelly Haseman earned the Big South Defensive Player of the Week honor, becoming the first Liberty player ever to win the award.

-- Junior outside hitter Karyl Bacon tallied a career-high 30 digs during Liberty's 3-1 win at Radford on Oct. 20. It was the first 30-dig performance by a Lady Flame since Lara Bartolomeo came up with 31 digs at Radford on Sept. 22, 2007.

-- Bacon and McCarty could both reach career milestones this week. Bacon needs only one more dig for 1,000 in her career, while McCarty sits just 31 kills away from 1,000.

-- Freshman Loren Thomas hit .532 with 28 kills during last week's trio of matches, raising her attack percentage against Big South opponents to .400. Fellow middle blocker McCarty is hitting .402 against conference opposition.

-- Liberty was 2-5 in road matches this season, before taking all three of its road tilts last week. Additionally, Coastal Carolina and Winthrop owned a combined home record of 19-2, prior to the Lady Flames' victories in both arenas over the weekend.

-- The Lady Flames held Winthrop without a service ace on Saturday, but extended their own streak to 137 straight matches with at least one ace.

-- Liberty hit over .300 as a team against both Coastal Carolina and Winthrop. The Lady Flames are now 49-0 since rally scoring was instituted in 2001, when hitting .300 or higher.

Scouting Reports
-- The Rams are coached by James Finley, who owns an 86-72 record in his fifth season at VCU.

-- VCU owns a 6-2 CAA record and is tied with William & Mary for second place in the conference standings.

-- Tuesday night's contest will wrap up a seven-match homestand for the Rams. VCU is 4-2 thus far during the extended string of contests at Alltel Pavilion, which began Oct. 7.

-- Michala Kvapilova, a 6-1 freshman outside hitter from the Czech Republic, has been tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week three out of the last four weeks.

-- Liberty is scheduled to play at VCU twice this season, as the Lady Flames will return to Alltel Pavilion for the Third Degree Sportswear Thanksgiving Invitational, Nov. 27-28.

-- The Lady Flames lead the all-time head-to-head series with VCU, 13-9, but the Rams have taken three straight matchups with Liberty. The Lady Flames' most recent win against the Rams was a 3-0 sweep at the Vines Center on Oct. 26, 2004.

-- The Blue Hose are coached by Chris Belshe, who is 51-74 in his fourth year at the helm.

-- Presbyterian has won two of its last three matches, climbing into fifth place in the Big South at 4-5.

-- The Blue Hose are 2-1 in road Big South matches, claiming victories at Gardner-Webb and Radford.

-- Presbyterian will visit the Vines Center at the tail end of a difficult week. The Blue Hose also visit UNC Asheville on Tuesday and head to High Point Friday.

-- Lisa Shelley, a transfer from South Carolina, has spearheaded the Presbyterian offensive attack. She ranks second in the Big South in conference matches, averaging 3.97 kills per set. Shelley also paces the conference with four 20-kill matches on the year.

-- Liberty will attempt to complete a season sweep of the Blue Hose, after claiming a 3-0 sweep in Clinton, S.C., Oct. 2. That night, Karyl Bacon provided 11 kills and seven digs in her return from injury, while Loren Thomas tallied a career-high nine blocks for the Lady Flames. Amanda Kettles stood out for Presbyterian, hitting .750 with 12 kills.

-- The Lady Flames are 4-1 all-time versus Presbyterian, including 2-0 at the Vines Center. Liberty has won both of its home matches against the Blue Hose in 3-0 sweeps.
