Today, the "Open Net" segment spotlights Brittney Johnson, a redshirt sophomore from Concord, Calif.

The defender is a graduate of Berean Christian High School, where she was a four-year letterwinner and was named the team MVP as a senior. She was named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll in 2007 and 2008.

Johnson is majoring in nursing at Liberty.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Philippians 4:6-7, because His peace has gotten me through a lot of stressful times.

What has been your favorite class at Liberty and why?
Anatomy and Physiology, because you can see just how big and awesome our God is through how masterfully He designed our bodies.

The opportunities are numerous here – not only in athletics, but also in academics and ministries.

Running into the goal post when I was playing goalie. It must have been when I was five or six.

If you could be somebody else for a day, who would you be and why?
Jordin Sparks, because I'm curious to know what it's like to be a recording artist.

The best part of being a Liberty student-athlete is …
Getting to know other athletes who love sports.

My dream job would be …
Getting paid to be a housewife.

The team I'm most looking forward to competing against this year is …
Lynchburg College, because they always provide a great challenge, especially since they're from the same city.

What is the best book you have ever read (other than the Bible)?
The Shack, by William P. Young.

If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
Super speed. I wonder what it feels like to see everything else move so slowly that it would seem that they stood still.

The TV show I can't live without watching each week is (and why) ...
Smallville, because I'm just hooked.

If I were named "Coach for a Day", I would make my coaches (and why) …
Run three supersets (300-yard shuttle plus a 120-yard dash is one set) and play pick-up with us because I know they would like the pick-up at least!

My favorite thing about being a part of the Liberty women's soccer team is (and why) …
Competing with girls who love God, love soccer, and have the desire to use their love of the game as a ministry.

If you could have dinner with three people throughout history, who would they be and why?
My grandpa, because I never got to know him personally; Isaiah the prophet, because it would be cool to hear what it felt like to have God prophesize through you; and Abraham Lincoln, because I wouldn't mind meeting one of our nation's great leaders.

Embrace my role on the team and utilize everything I have been given to see our team make it through the Big South.

Dory, from Finding Nemo. It's what I've been told.
