The addition of Lauren Bosché will give Liberty three setters on the 2009 team, also including Kallie Corbin and Courtney Boggs.

The Liberty volleyball team has received its fifth commitment for the upcoming 2009 season. Local product Lauren Bosché, a 5-9 setter from Boones Mill, Va., has signed a national letter of intent for the 2009-10 academic year.

Bosché joins Hannah Anderson (OH, Rocklin, Calif.), Erica Manor (OH, Bunker Hill, W.Va.), Kendle Rollins (MB, Lebanon, Ohio) and Loren Thomas (MB, Ocoee, Fla.) as part of the Lady Flames' incoming class of freshmen.

"Lauren is a very athletic player who jumps well and presents a good-sized block," stated Liberty Head Coach Shane Pinder. "She can play a couple of different positions and will help us every day."

Bosché joins the Lady Flames after an extremely successful career at Cave Spring High School, where she racked up the second-most career assists (2,624) in Virginia High School League (VHSL) history. She helped the Knights capture back-to-back Virginia Group AA state championships in 2005 and 2006.

Individually, the setter was tabbed an honorable mention All-American by PrepVolleyball.com and a second-team Group AA all-state performer as a senior. Bosché also earned a pair of first-team all-region selections and was a three-time all-district honoree at Cave Spring.

Bosché is also a member of the Cave Spring track & field team. In 2006, she was the indoor track district champion and regional runner-up in the high jump, after clearing 5-2.

"Lauren had multiple opportunities to play collegiate volleyball, so we are very fortunate to have her join our program," added Pinder. "We are excited to get this level of player walking on for our team."

The two-time defending Big South champion Lady Flames will open the 2009 campaign Aug. 28, when they face UNC Greensboro as part of the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
