The Big South Conference will host its annual Big South Football Media Day Luncheon on Friday at the Renaissance Hotel in Charlotte, N.C., officially opening the 2008 conference football season. Friday's one-on-one interviews with the coaches and players will be streamed live on the Big South EDGE, free of charge to all fans.

The Big South Football Media Day event will open with a luncheon at Noon, where the preseason all-conference teams will be announced, along with preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. The league will also release its annual Big South coaches and media poll during the luncheon, revealing this year's predicted favorite to hoist the Big South trophy at season's end.

Following the luncheon, each football coach and the Big South preseason player honorees will be interviewed live via the Big South EDGE. The interview sessions will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m., and will wrap up around 3:15 p.m.

Two-time Big South Coach of the Year Danny Rocco will be among the coaching interviewees. The third-year head coach will comment on Liberty's 2007 Big South championship season and what the Flames' chances are for a repeat title run in 2008, as Liberty stands just days away from opening up preseason training camp.
