Liberty Holds Steady at No. 6 in National Rankings

The Liberty field hockey team held steady at No. 6 in the country in today's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll.

Liberty is 12-2 overall and 10-2 in the BIG EAST. The Lady Flames have been ranked among the top six teams in the nation in all four national polls to date. Liberty achieved a program-best No. 4 national ranking on March 23. The No. 4 ranking was the best of any Liberty sport at the NCAA Division I level.

Liberty (No. 6), Connecticut (No. 7) and Old Dominion (No. 16) represent the BIG EAST Conference in the poll, which features the top-20 teams in the country this spring.

Two-time defending national champion North Carolina (13-1) continued to hold the No. 1 spot in the poll. Iowa (9-2) checks in at No. 2, followed by No. 3 Louisville (12-4), No. 4 Northwestern (8-2) and No. 5 Michigan (8-2).

Liberty returns to action on Sunday for its regular season finale versus Davidson (4-4). Match time is set for 2 p.m. at the Liberty Field Hockey Field and can be seen on ESPN+.
