How It Happened
• Liberty won two of the three doubles matches and all but one singles match today.
• The Lady Flames' doubles victories came from the No. 2 and No. 3 teams. Liberty's No. 2 unit, Tiffany Nguyen and Micaela Ode Mitre, cruised to a 6-0 win against Malin Falk and Emily Brandow.
• After Radford evened up the doubles session with a court one triumph from Melissa Ifidzhen and Salma Loudili, 6-2 over Alexandra Almborg and Eloise Saraty, it was Liberty's No. 3 doubles team that responded from a deficit to earn the first point of the match. The Lady Flames' Grace Hashiguchi and Esther Lovato trailed 4-3 to Tyler Blalock and Katey Fruehauf but won the next three games and the match, 6-4.
• Leading 1-0 heading into singles, Liberty's Almborg (No. 1 singles) turned in perhaps her most dominant performance of the season, taking down Loudili 6-0, 6-1.
• The Lady Flames' two-point lead did not last long, as Highlanders No. 6 singles player Camryn McClure bested Kelly Lewis 6-1, 6-0. McClure's victory turned out to be the only one of the day for Radford, with Liberty winning the No. 2, No. 4, No. 3 and No. 5 singles matches, in that order.
• Nguyen brought the hosts within a point of victory (3-1) with her 6-2, 6-2 result over Ifidzhen on court two. Nguyen's doubles partner, Ode Mitre (No. 4 singles) locked up the Liberty victory and a 4-1 lead by topping Brandow in straight sets (6-2, 6-0) as well.
• The Lady Flames' advantage grew to 5-1, as Lovato battled past Falk 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 3 slot. Lovato is 19-0 in singles this season and carries a 24-match winning streak, dating back to the 2020 season, heading into Wednesday.
• The only match of the day that went to three sets was between Liberty's Saraty and Radford's Fruehauf. Saraty took the first set, while Fruehauf claimed set two to force a third set 10-point tiebreaker. Saraty claimed the tiebreaker 10-2 and the match, 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-2).
• In the Lady Flames' eight home victories this season, they have outscored their opponents 47-8. Liberty is 18-1 at home since the start of the spring 2019 campaign.
• Liberty is 42-13 (.764) overall in doubles and 80-37 (.684) in singles, this season.

Next Up
• Liberty will host VCU (10-7) in another non-conference match at the Liberty Tennis Complex, Wednesday. First serve between the Lady Flames and Rams is at 2 p.m.
• The two schools will be meeting for the third time. VCU is 2-0 against Liberty, with the two squads last playing each other in 2019. The Rams won that match by a 5-2 score on Feb. 16, 2019.
