Postgame Interviews: Head Coach Nikki Parsley Blocker and Jodie Conolly Top Plays
Liberty sophomore Jodie Conolly scored twice, and No. 6 Liberty shut out Temple 2-0 on Senior Day, Sunday afternoon at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.
Liberty extends its winning streak to three games and improves to 12-2 on the year. The Lady Flames close out BIG EAST regular season competition with a 10-2 mark. Liberty completed the regular season series sweep of Temple, winning all four games this spring.
Meanwhile, the Owls drop to 5-9 on the season and 2-6 in BIG EAST games.
Prior to the start of Sunday's contest, the Liberty field hockey program took time to honor its two graduating seniors, defender Carolyn Haase and goalkeeper Kennedy Luke, with a special Senior Day Ceremony. Both players appeared in the game for Liberty.

Turning Point Conolly's two goals were nearly identical in nature, with both coming on drag flicks into the top right corner of the cage. The Liberty sophomore's first goal came at the 3:24 mark, assisted by inserter Bethany Dykema and stick stopper Kendra Jones.
Conolly's second marker took place in the 21st minute (20:32), assisted by Bethany Dykema and Charlotte Vaanhold. Her second goal of the game and sixth of the season put the Lady Flames on top 2-0.
Liberty's defense limited Temple to one total shot and no shots on goal during the match. The Lady Flames offense generated 20 shots (nine on goal) and applied consistent pressure with 12 penalty corners. Temple earned only one short corner in the game.
Key Stats & Notes • All six of Liberty's goals this weekend came on penalty corners. Conolly led the offensive effort with three goals, two assists and eight points. Bethany Dykema had two goals, three assists and seven points in the two games. Dykema now leads the team with 11 assists this season. • Liberty outshot Temple 20-1 today and held a 47-7 edge in total shots in the weekend series. The Lady Flames won 26 penalty corners in the two games, while the Owls had three total. • Jill Bolton led Liberty with four shots (two on goal). Conolly, Lizzie Hamlett, Bethany Dykema, Charlotte Vaanhold and Daniella Rhodes each had three shots in the game. Both Hamlett and Conolly put all three shots on target. • The Lady Flames defeated the Owls 2-0 three times in regular season play this spring and once by a 4-2 margin (yesterday). • Liberty has five shutouts this year, with three coming against Temple. • The Lady Flames are 6-0 on their home turf at the Liberty Field Hockey Field in 2021. • Liberty improves to 9-1 all-time versus Temple and 8-0 against the Owls in BIG EAST games. In those eight league matches, the Lady Flames have outscored the Owls 35-6. • The Lady Flames' 10 conference wins is a new program record. In Liberty's first four years in the BIG EAST (2016-19), Liberty only played seven total conference games per season.
Up Next Liberty will wrap up regular season play with a home contest versus the Davidson Wildcats (4-4), next Sunday. The match will start at 1 p.m.
The Lady Flames and Wildcats met in the season opener, Feb. 14 in Davidson, N.C. Liberty topped Davidson 3-1 in that game and is 6-1 all-time versus the Wildcats.
