Flames Head to Nashville for ASUN Match at Lipscomb

The Liberty Flames travel to Nashville, Tenn., for an ASUN Conference match against the Lipscomb Bisons, Saturday at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Liberty Notables
• Liberty will close out ASUN Conference play against the Lipscomb Bisons in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday. The Flames enter the contest off a 1-0 overtime win over Bellarmine, last Saturday.

• Last Saturday, goalkeeper Danny Cordero made a career-high eight saves and Seth Clark gave the Flames a 1-0 victory over Bellarmine, scoring on a free kick in overtime. The goal was Clark's third of the season. For his performance Cordero was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week.

• Liberty has outscored its opponents, 15-5, in 2021. The Flames  enter Saturday's contest  allowing 0.56 goals per game.

• Liberty has allowed one or fewer goals in seven of their nine contests this season.

• Forward Musa Morris enters Saturday's match leading the ASUN Conference and the Flames in goals (5) and points (12). Michael Huss is second with four goals and eight points. Clark is third with three goals and seven points.

• Midfielder Marko Mitrevski leads the Flames and is tied for  the ASUN Conference lead with four assists. Fellow midfielder Luke Eberle is next with three.

• Coming off a career-high eight saves in last Saturday's win over Bellarmine, goalkeeper Danny Cordero has posted a 0.53 goal against average and an ASUN-leading seven shutouts. 

• Liberty has had four games go to overtime, posting a 1-2-1 mark. One of those contest wast the last time Lipscomb and Liberty met earlier this season at Osborne Stadium. The Bisons defeated the Flames 3-2 in overtime. 

Cordero: ASUN Defensive Player of the Week
For the second time this season, Liberty goalkeeper Danny Cordero was selected as the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week for March 22.
Cordero made several key saves among his career-high eight during Liberty's 1-0 overtime victory over Bellarmine at Osborne Stadium last Saturday. The blanking was his seventh of the season.
Cordero has played every minute in the Flames net this season, posting a 0.53 goals-against average and a .884 save percentage. He leads the ASUN with seven shutouts. The total is tied for sixth on Liberty's season total list.
