Following a week off from competition, Liberty (2-5, 2-4 ASUN) travels to Kennesaw, Ga., to complete a season series with ASUN-leading Kennesaw State (8-0, 8-0). The Lady Flames' last two matches came Feb. 19-20, as KSU posted a pair of hard-fought 3-1 wins over Liberty in Lynchburg.

Liberty posted a huge block against Kennesaw State, including a season-high 16 blocks on Feb. 19 followed by 11 blocks the following day. Lydia Burts (1.75 blocks per set) and Kainah Williams, (.448 hitting percentage, 1.50 blocks per set) were a force at the net against the Owls. Setter Amaya Williams averaged 8.75 assists, 3.12 digs and 1.00 blocks per set in those two matches.

The Lady Flames currently lead the ASUN and rank 12th nationally with 2.79 blocks per set, while Burts is ranks 9th in the nation with 1.71 blocks per set.

STARTING ROTATION
1. Third-year head coach Trevor Johnson, a 2019 VolleyballMag.com Under 40 Coaching Hotshots list honoree, needs one more win for 100 as a women's volleyball head coach. He has previous stints of as head coach of Concordia (CA) men's and women's volleyball programs.

2. After finishing in a tie with Lipscomb for third place in the 2019 ASUN standings with an 11-5 conference record, the Lady Flames appear third in the 2021 Preseason Coaches' Poll. Kennesaw State was picked just ahead of Liberty, in second.

3. Sophomore Rajini Fitzmaurice, the only Lady Flame to start the season opener in both 2019 and 2021, is tied for the team leads with Julia Mangum at 65 kills apiece. Fitzmaurice has served up a a team-best seven aces. Trinity Watts is a close third on the team with 63 kills.

4. Julia Mangum was named ASUN Freshman of the Week on Feb. 16. She posted her first career double-double on Feb. 14 at UNA, with career highs in kills (13) and digs (12). Mangum is tied with Trinity Watts for the most 10-kill matches on the season, with four each.

5. Freshman Trinity Watts has scored double figures in kills in four out of the last five matches, including a career-high 11 against Lipscomb on Feb. 7.

6. Amaya Williams was voted the 2021 ASUN Fan-Voted Preseason Setter of the Year. A member of the 2017 Big South All-Freshman Team, Williams has posted double-doubles in her last three matches, the first Liberty player since Hannah Morris in 2019 with three straight double-doubles.

7. Prior to the Jan. 22 match against VCU, Kainah Williams had not played in a match since Nov. 16, 2018, a span of 798 days. She scored 11 kills on Feb. 19 against Kennesaw State, her most kills in a single match since scoring 13 kills against Maryland Eastern Shore on Oct. 23, 2018.

8. Freshman Lydia Burts' career-high eight blocks against Kennesaw State on Feb. 19 were the most by a Lady Flames since Nov. 21, 2019, when Kailey Macy posted 10 blocks.
