For the third consecutive week, Liberty's Chelsea Igberaese has been honored as ASUN Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Meanwhile, fellow thrower Kyle Mitchell was named ASUN Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the fifth ASUN weekly honor of his career.

A redshirt junior from Dacula, Ga., Igberaese was victorious in the women's weight throw at the Virginia Tech Challenge on Friday. Her winning mark of 65-1.5 outdistanced the runner-up by more than seven and a half feet as Igberaese picked up her third straight weight throw victory. She had four throws measured at more than 64 feet on the day.

Part of a field which included four of the top five men's shot putters in ASUN Conference history, Saturday at the Virginia Tech Challenge, Mitchell emerged victorious with a round-five mark of 60-1.25. The senior from Kingston, Jamaica has now won each of his last two shot put competitions and earned his first ASUN weekly award since Feb. 5, 2020.

Next up for the Flames are the 2021 ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships. For the fourth consecutive season, the meet will take place at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex, with events slated for Friday and Saturday.
