Bolton is the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after a 10-point weekend (3 g, 4 a) against Villanova.

Liberty field hockey senior Jill Bolton has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, and sophomore Bethany Dykema garnered BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll mention.

Bolton's honor gives the unbeaten Lady Flames (3-0, 2-0 BIG EAST) back-to-back offensive player of the week honors to start the season after teammate Daniella Rhodes received the same distinction a week ago. Bolton, a three-time All-BIG EAST first team selection, is now a two-time BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. She received the same honor on Oct. 7, 2019.

In two conference games this past weekend, Bolton tallied 10 points on three goals and four assists in a pair of 7-1 Liberty victories over Villanova at the Liberty Field Hockey Field. In the first game on Saturday, the senior forward established a new career high with seven points on two goals and three assists. Her first goal of the afternoon, which came at the 27:54 mark, was the 30th of her career. The Souderton, Pa., native also scored in the 42nd minute and assisted on the first goal of the game, which was scored by Daniella Rhodes in the second minute.

In Sunday's game against the Wildcats, Bolton recorded one goal and one assist. She scored her fourth goal of the season on a reverse into the right side. For a second straight day, she assisted on the Lady Flames' first goal of the day, a beautiful crossing pass to a sliding Charlotte Vaanhold in the first quarter (10:11).

Bolton is second on the team in goals (4), first in assists (4) and second in points (12) through three games of the spring 2021 season.

Dykema, a second-year defender, recorded her first goal of the season and had two assists for a career-best four points, Sunday. The sophomore scored on a penalty corner early in the fourth quarter (45:36) and assisted on Liberty's other two short corner goals from Daniella Rhodes (12:49) and Jodie Conolly (42:21). Dykema and the Lady Flames defense held Villanova to 13 total shots and two penalty corners in the two games over the weekend.

Liberty (3-0, 2-0 BIG EAST) will take on Temple (1-2, 0-2 BIG EAST) in a pair of road conference matches, Saturday at Sunday. The two contests will start at noon each day at Howarth Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
