Chelsea Igberaese has won three straight women's weight throw competitions.
Liberty redshirt junior Chelsea Igberaese posted her third consecutive victory in the women's weight throw with a 65-1.5 effort, Friday at the Virginia Tech Challenge inside Rector Field House.
The two-time defending ASUN Women's Field Athlete of the Week, Igberaese won the event by more than seven and a half feet over VCU's Makayla McGowan. All four of Igberaese's legal throws measured 64-3.25 or longer in her final tune-up for next weekend's ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Igberaese, who ranks No. 34 nationally in the event, has only lost to one collegiate opponent in five weight throw competitions this season. She will next attempt to win her second career ASUN women's weight throw crown on Feb. 27.
Competing in the 60-meter dash for the first time in 2021, Alexis Rolan placed fifth in 7.88 seconds. Her preliminary time of 7.85 will make the senior the event's No. 4 seed at the ASUN meet.
