Liberty Athletics will now host the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday, February 23 at 2 p.m.

After last week's Liberty Indoor Tennis Center dedication ceremony was postponed due to inclement weather, Liberty Athletics will now host the dedication event on Tuesday, February 23 at 2 p.m.

The Liberty Indoor Tennis Center hosted its first matches in the brand-new facility on Saturday and Monday. Last Saturday, the Lady Flames tennis team earned the first two victories in the new building. They defeated Davidson 7-0 and Towson 6-1 to continue their unbeaten (6-0) season and best start in school history. On Monday, the Flames tennis squad topped William & Mary 5-2 in its first match in the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center, its fourth straight win, to bolster its 2021 record to 5-3 overall.

The $5 million project was first announced on Nov. 14, 2019, and construction on the new 48,000-square foot facility began on April 23, 2020.

The capital gift responsible for this construction project represented the largest single gift pledge to the Flames Club in athletics department history.

For media outlets interested in attending the event, please contact Assistant Athletics Communications Director Bill Smith (wsmith51@liberty.edu) in advance so your needs can be accommodated.  Fans are encouraged to join in fellowship as we dedicate this building to reaching the world for Christ through athletics.

The facility features six courts and seating for 100 fans. The building will also house locker rooms, a team lounge, a laundry facility and a concessions area.

For those interested in contributing to the new on-campus building, naming opportunities exist within the facility. Because no Flames Club membership privileges are received other than naming rights, gifts to the capital campaign project are potentially fully tax-deductible (see your tax advisor), and earn double Flames Club Loyalty Points, or two points for every $100 contributed.

Fans can support Liberty Athletics by joining the Flames Club, which exists to underwrite Liberty Athletics' three-fold mission to Train Champions for Christ, provide a world-class student-athlete experience and achieve victory with integrity.

Flames Club membership starts at just $60 and members can enjoy preferred parking, seating and pregame hospitality benefits, based upon membership level. For more information about the Flames Club, please call 434-582-CLUB (2582) or email FlamesClub@liberty.edu.
